DECLARATION CONTINUED......
-He has abdicated Government here by declaring us out of his protection and waging war against us.
(Although there are no military involved, the war against us appears to an economic and political war. This administration has appointed itself owner of private companies, sought to demonize those that would get the economy on the right track,and embraced SOCIALISM while dismantling CAPITALISM.)
-He has plundered our sea,ravaged our coasts, burnt our towns, and destroyed the lives of our people.
(So far this administration has only destroyed the lives of our people and plundered our treasury...)
-He is, at this time transporting large armies of foreign mercenaries to compleat(sic) the works of death, desolation, and tyranny, already begun with circumstances of cruelty and perfidy, scarcely paralleled in the most barbarous ages, and totally unworthy the head of a civilized nation.
(ok-so far this one doesn't apply nor can I think of a contemporary comparison)
-He-has constrained our fellow citizen taken captive on the high seas to bear arms against their country, to become executioners of their friends and brethren, or to fall themselves by their hands.
(same as the last-unless I really stretch my imagination and think of ACORN )
-He has excited domestic insurrections amongst us, and has endeavored to bring on the inhabitants of our frontiers, the merciless Indian savages, whose known rule of warfare, is undistinguished destruction, of all ages sexes and conditions.
(If I recall, Obama stated (very often) he wanted bi-partisanship and unity with all races, yet has incited and exaggerated the differences of each of us, associated with those that are racially biased, promotes a nepotism amongst his appointees, and has turned the phrase "class warfare" into a war-cry".)
-In every stage of these oppressions we have petitioned for redress in the most humble terms: Our repeated petitions have been answered only by repeated injury. A prince, whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a tyrant, is unfit to be ruler of a free people.
(we call, we write, we sign petitions, and most important we vote. It is ignored by the House and Senate and most egregiously, by the President. Although he reads a speech very well, he has no understanding (it seems)of what he is reading, of freedom, of liberty nor of leadership)
-Nor have we been wanting in attentions to our British brethren. We have warned them from time to time of attempts by their legislature to extend an unwarrantable jurisdiction over us. We have reminded them of the circumstances of our Emigration and settlement here. We have appealed to their native justice and magnanimity, and we have conjured them by the ties of our common kindred to disavow these usurpations, which, would inevitably interrupt our connections and correspondence. They too have been deaf to the voice of justice and of consanguinity. We must, therefore, acquiesce in the necessity, which, which denounces our separation, and hold them, as we hold the rest of mankind, enemies in war, in peace, friends.
(The partisanship of the Democrats in the last 10 years and the animosity towards all things, all people conservative, have fueled a silent revolution which has, with the election of Obama and his policies escalated to the point of "pure partisanship" on both sides. Political Correctness has reached a crescendo and people outside of Washington are no longer tolerating its doublespeak.)
