There is a general sense that, given a few substitutions, should be written again today. Substitute Washington for Britain and Political Parties and or President for king George.
Washington has run amok and because of the general elitist attitude of our elected officials, we the people, ( or at least this person) feel that we are no longer a Representative Democracy, we have become an Aristocracy and we are not happy about it.
I personally believe that free markets, open and free and fair trade, security at our boarders, firm punishment for ILLEGAL ALIENS,better screening to-include a larger number of Professional and well educated immigrants,repeal minimum wage laws, repeal all hate-crime laws(how does a few bad words make murder or assault and worse?- How do you "enhance" the death penalty?), repeal the 16th amendment- allow states to collect taxes an remit to Washing a FAIR portion, eliminate ALL "Czar" positions,ALL commissions,and Agencies that are appointed by the President AND HAVE THE POWER TO TAX WITHOUT REPRESENTATION (none are accountable to the people who pay them) , have a reasonable debate and vote on term limits for ALL elected offices,legislators(to include their staff).
and one of the most important, REPEAL ALL LAWS THAT MANDATE THE STATES COMPLY OR SUFFER RETRIBUTION.(in my world, this is called extortion)
Our Constitution is VERY straightforward, it states(and was ratified)
There is a fundamental change going on and I believe we can all feel it. It has been creeping and sneaking up on us as a result of "back-room" deals, unread bills, power-hungry, narcissistic and avaricious legislators.
